The Viking and Holden Area Food Bank is open Wednesday mornings by appointment only. Can't make it on Wednesday morning? Just let us know and we will make alternative arrangements.
If you need hamper, please call the Viking/Beaver FCSS office by Tuesday afternoon at 780-336-4024. They will ask you a few questions concerning what community you live in, what sources of income you have, how many people are in your household, and what are your needs. Typically, we give out one hamper every three months to a household. However, if you need hampers more often, please ask. We may ask you some deeper questions if you need more hampers - mostly to determine if there might be other ways to help you. Sometimes when we ask deeper questions we have been able to find programs that might be able to help, or we might find other areas like budgeting that we can help with.
Our hampers usually consist of meat, fresh fruits and vegetables, bread, canned goods, pasta, cereals, assorted toiletries, and other items as available. If you have specific needs, please ask. We can't guarantee special requests, but we will meet them if we can. If there are things on this list you don't need or wouldn't use, just let us know.
Anyone is eligible to ask for a hamper as long as you live in our area. You need to live between Kinsella and Holden in Beaver County.
We are located at 4924-53 Avenue, Viking - pick up is along the west alley on the side of the building. We share the building with Viking/Beaver FCSS and Beaver Emergency Services.
